Geology

Geology is a subject that students learn about all the way from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5. Students can choose to study it in detail at A Level or GCSE level, but it is also taught when it overlaps with subjects such as science and geography. While studying these topics, pupils and students will gain a scientific insight into the natural environment and develop an understanding and appreciation of landscape and scenery. Pupils will also have the opportunity to address various environmental and sustainability issues. As well as this, students can choose to develop their understanding further by looking at the geological processes that occur at and below the Earth’s surface and the various uses of geological materials. Geology school trips introduce students to the wonders of geology! Whether it’s wandering the Heights of Abraham or exploring Caves in Yorkshire, these school trips provide the perfect setting for students to learn more about geology and enables students to appreciate the wonderful creations that have resulted from geology.

Another great area to experience this is on a field studies school trip we have lots of locations and regions for you to choose from, whether you want a trip to experience the Jurassic coastline for fossils, Yorkshire Dales with its limestone, shale, sandstones and millstone gritted fells or Snowdonia in Wales providing Ordovician volcanic rocks or the rural countryside offering insights into the natural environment, forestry, water and mineral resources and soils.

Here at UK School Trips we want to help in providing you with options when looking at planning a school trip or educational visit that is why we have listed some great geology school trip options.
