Surrounded by stunning ancient woodland FSC Bishops Wood has a unique and sustainable centre building. It offers a range of fun and engaging primary or secondary one day outdoor field trips for geography, science and history.

-Easily reached from across the West Midlands, FSC Bishops Wood has fantastic outdoor learning spaces in and around the stunning ancient woodland which surrounds the centre. 

-Courses are created carefully to link to curriculum requirements. We can work with you to tailor content to fit in with work back in the classroom.

-FSC have passionate and experienced teaching staff.

-FSC offer different price bands through the year to offer value for money.

-There is an FSC Kids Fund and FSC Bursary Fund available to offer financial support to those who may not otherwise be able to visit us.

- FSC Bishops Wood is part of FSC, an environmental education charity with 75 years’ experience of providing fieldwork and outdoor learning and a network of UK centres offering day and residential fieldwork opportunities.

What is typically included on our school trips

FSC Bishops Wood  have a range of courses available. Early years can use stories to gain an understanding of the outdoor environments, whilst KS1 and KS2 students will have more a focus on a particular topic. We have a full range of courses available which we can discuss with you during the booking process.

Group Sizes Catered For

We can cater for groups of any size. Courses do have a minimum charge per group.

Materials, Resources & Information Provided

FSC courses are created carefully to link to curriculum requirements. We can work with you to tailor content to fit in with work back in the classroom.

We provide a variety of resources to support outdoor learning, on the FSC website.

Risk Assessment Details

A detailed risk assessment for activities and teaching sites is undertaken which forms the basis of a dynamic approach to assessment by trained staff whilst in the field.

Pricing Information

Many of our visiting groups take advantage of our off-peak prices between November and February. Between November and February, courses start at just £10 per primary pupil and £22 per secondary student for day courses.

Clothing Requirements

FSC prices include course planning; fully risk assessed teaching sites; accommodation; specialist tutors; teaching resources; fieldwork equipment; classrooms and food. The only thing you need to add-on is transport. We even provide wellies & waterproofs at our residential centres.

First Aid Information

All field teachers are trained in first aid and group management.
