As the world’s oldest continuously running 15-inch gauge railway this is truly a slice of history. Our knowledgable driver will regale you with tales of the railway’s history and plans for its future alike.

What is typically included on our school trips

For school groups we can tailor the visit to suit your needs. There’s the opportunity to meet with the CEO and owner of the business to understand a little bit about the history of attractions and this site in particular. And also the opportunity to have a meet and greet with the driver who will help you to understand the engineering aspects of the trains.

We can cater for groups of any size.

Pricing Information

A return ride is charged at £3 per person. 

Clothing Requirements

We are an outdoor destination in the British Isles!  So it is recommended to dress for the weather accordingly as the train is open air.

First Aid Information

We have a first aid station and qualified first-aiders on site at all times.

Available Facilities

We have a carousel and helter skelter at the Pleasureland terminus charged at £3 per person per ride if guests wish to add to their experience after their train ride. There is also a café offering light snacks and drinks adjacent to the tracks, but guests are also welcome to bring their own food and make use of our lovely picnic areas dotted around the site.

Accessibility & Disabled Facilities

The train does not have wheelchair access at this time.

Opening Hours & Information

Please refer to our website for specifics but in general we are open weekends and school holidays from March through to the end of October.  11am to 5pm.
