What we offer on a school trip
Open All Year Round, Willowgate Activity Centre nestles on the banks of the Iconic River Tay just 5 miles outside of Perth City Centre and offers a host of exhilarating activities in the ultimate natural playground suitable for your School Day Trip!
Activities are run all year round and programmes built to match your needs; be it an all-thrills activity day including Kayaking, Stand Up Paddleboarding, Giant Paddleboarding, Archery, Bushcraft & More, an environmental day linked in with John Muir, Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions or working with a young person 121.
The centre has its own private lagoons where we primarily run a lot of our Paddlesports, with River Tay activity options also available. We are proud of our Unique Location - Based on the edge of the river Tay, there's nothing quite like it, with lots of local wildlife including Beaver, Otters, Herons and seals.
With the majority of our activities onsite its all around getting you here and getting you active with aim ethos around maximum participation and getting moving your get a quick welcome and be on activities straight away. We believe school trips are about getting everyone doing as much as possible as so our programs are set up in a way to ensure minimal sitting around and maximum engagement!
With us based so central in Perth we regular have schools from all over Scotland visit us with Dundee 20 minutes away, Edinburgh & Glasgow an hour and Aberdeen 1.5 hours away!
What makes us a great choice for education
We believe Willowgate is unique in many ways, we have a location that others just can’t match while being so easily accessible via the motorway. Our focus is on maximum participation and giving young people an opportunity to lots of activities in one day, we have set up our site with this in mind with our standard day trip trying out 4 activities such as Kayaking, Stand Up paddleboarding, Archery & Bushcraft.
We see our current customers come back year after year because we aim to make the process easy from setting up the booking process, to pre agreed programs and a room specific for teaches when they are here (with lots of tea and coffee). The main feedback we get is that the young people love it, we make it easy for the school and teachers and that they are always moving including short lunch periods for the young people so they get the maximum from the day and minimal down time to cause chaos!

Testimonials
"We had an amazing team day last Tuesday down at Willowgate! We did many activities, but the axe throwing was a new challenge for all of us and was definitely a winner! Shout out to Iain our instructor who led us well and who gave away the cheating team during the fire building challenge!”
"Staff could not have tried any harder to ensure we all had an amazing time. Great facilities, great location, pandemic friendly. Great organisation and good focus on safety. Would highly recommend if in the area. Thanks, Willowgate for a fantastic day”
“My two 11 year old grandsons went for an adventure day during Easter holiday. They had a fantastic time. When we picked them up at the end of the day, they had changed from unsmiling boys to animated, excited, happy boys. They had an amazing experience. Paddle boarding, canoeing, archery etc etc. Would highly recommend”
