At OA Surf Club, we believe that outdoor activities can be a fantastic way for school groups to learn new skills, build confidence, and develop teamwork and communication skills. That's why we offer a range of activity days that can be tailored to meet the unique needs and interests of your school group.

Whether you're looking to organise a team-building day, a fun and challenging taster session, or a more structured learning experience, our experienced team can work with you to create an activity day that meets your requirements.

We understand that safety is of the utmost importance when it comes to school groups, which is why we have a proven track record of running high-quality activity days with the highest possible safety standards. Our team are fully qualified and experienced, and we use only the best equipment and facilities to ensure that your group is safe and well-cared for throughout the day.

Our activities include surfing, coasteering, stand-up paddleboarding, and more, and we can tailor each session to the age, ability, and interests of your group. We also offer a range of packages that include transport to and from your school, as well as lunch and refreshments and accommodation.

Accreditation and Awards

OA Surf Club holds an AALA certificate and is also accredited by Surfing England and the National Coasteering Charter

What is typically included on our school trips

We can offer surfing, bodyboarding and coasteering. 

Dependent on age and ability, each group looks for something slightly different, so each activity session is tailored specifically to their needs.

Group Sizes Catered For

We are highly experienced in providing surf lessons, bodyboarding and coasteering for all group sizes. We can cater for groups up to 80 students.

Materials, Resources & Information Provided

All specialist equipment is provided and for local schools we can visit the school prior to meet the students and speak to staff. 

Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions

As long as consent has been given by the parents/carers then there are no restrictions.

Risk Assessment Details

We can provide all risk assessments and any other paperwork required pre visit.

Pricing Information

We charge £26 per student for a 2 hour activity session, 1 staff member free per 10 students. This is 2 hours of activity time, we allow time to change into wetsuits either side of this, so we guide groups to allow 3 hours for their full session.

Clothing Requirements

All specialist equipment is provided, for surfing and bodyboarding participants need to bring swimwear, a towel and suncream.  For coasteering, participants need to bring closed toe footwear(trainers/wetsuit boots), swimwear and a towel.

First Aid Information

All our coaches are qualified beach lifeguards, surf coaches and have extra first aid training.  First aid and safety equipment are carried on every session.

Available Facilities

Surfing/bodyboarding is run from Widemouth Bay, it is a public car park and there is a café and toilets on site.

Coasteering is run from Bossiney Bay, there is a café, ice cream vehicle and toilet on site as well as a large car park.

Opening Hours & Information

We are open every day from 7am to 9pm, we can run multiple surfing, bodyboarding or coasteering sessions daily.

Other Information

With over 30 years of experience running surf lessons, bodyboarding and coasteering in Widemouth Bay for schools and groups, we have plenty of experience in making the day safe, fun, enjoyable and an amazing experience.  We were one of the first coasteering operators in Cornwall.
